Ministries International

The spiritual foundation of God's Heritage Ministries International is built upon six core emphases that guide every aspect of our ministry and mission. These principles define who we are and shape our approach to kingdom work:

GOD'S HERITAGE has to do with a people zealous for the work of their God, committed to serving the Lord effectively with integrity and true stewardship unto the Perfect-Day.

GOD'S HERITAGE is a vision of a people who will damn the forces of darkness to live victoriously and triumphantly in a crooked and perverse generation.

GOD'S HERITAGE has a mandate:

The mandate is triple pronged:

• Affecting/Impacting the world - Matthew 28:18-20
• Reviving the church - Ezra 9:9, Isaiah 32:15-18
• Bringing many sons to glory - Hebrews 2:10

GOD'S HERITAGE is a 'called out' people. It is a vision that pulls people out from occult backgrounds, demon possession, captivity, sickness, languishing and famishing conditions, ignorance, apostasy and a backslidden state to serve the living God.

GOD'S HERITAGE is a vision characterized with a great demonstration of power: the power of God draws out men.

Those who are GOD'S HERITAGE are God's inheritance, God's own special possession, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17, Joel 2:17, James 2:5).

God's Heritage is the birth of a spectacular spiritual encounter experienced by the Founding Minister, Rev. Felix Akara, on the 7th of August, 1986.

The Encounter - August 7th, 1986

After the morning prayers at about 6:30am, Rev. Akara laid down on a couch. In a sudden revelation, he found himself seated in a stadium filled with thousands of people. A great event was about to take place—there was great excitement and expectation.

Suddenly, a handsome dark young man in a blue safari suit was squeezing through the crowd. When someone shouted him away, he turned to Rev. Akara, smiled, and transformed into Jesus!

Having said that, Jesus disappeared into a glow as bright as the sun—an awesome radiance difficult to behold. The brightness engulfed the whole stadium. Then there followed a rush of noise and sound created by a quick moving wind. There were loud noises, heavy quakings, strong and forceful vibrations.

He was moved by a powerful wind vehicle far into space and could see the earth from above. And he heard a voice:

In an instant, this "Wind and Glory" vehicle landed him in front of a cathedral of an orthodox church amidst deafening noise. Thousands of people emerged, crossing the road not minding heavy traffic. Many miracles, signs, healings and deliverance were taking place. People were screaming in excitement!

This was how the vision of affecting/impacting the world and reviving the church came—helping an ailing world and reviving backslidden churches.

The Confirmation

The entire revelation lasted about 30 minutes. As Rev. Akara awoke, somebody called him that Rev Friday Ajah wanted to meet with him that morning. When they met, Rev. Ajah revealed that the Lord had instructed him that night to work with Rev. Akara in the Ministry!

As they discussed, Rev. Ajah brought forth a letter from the entire Anglican Communion Ministers from various Cathedrals in Lagos, inviting him for a Conference on Deliverance and Holy Ghost Baptism. They attended together, and that was the first assignment they did together in Lagos—ministering to hundreds of Anglican ministers with great power and demonstration of the Holy Ghost.

The Ministry Years

Rev. Akara worked in the University Church (Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Chapel of Redemption) for 5 years with incredible power and demonstration of the Holy Ghost, resulting in the explosion of membership. The grace and giftings of God in his life contributed significantly to the growth and fame of the Chapel.

This ministry has since then affected the lives of thousands of men and women in every walk of life. Its impact is felt all over the world. "My Glory Cover You" is the story of conversion, encounter, and receipt of a mandate from the Lord.

Vision Statement 1: Affecting/Impacting the World

God's Heritage members are called to the unbelievers, the sick, the bound, the oppressed, the spiritually blind and those under demonic yokes and bondages.

Vision Statement 2: Reviving the Church

God's Heritage members are called to revive the Land and the Church.

Vision Statement 3: Bringing Many Sons to Glory

God's Heritage members are called to bring many sons to Glory. We receive empowerment not only for ourselves but for:

• Members of our family
• Our friends
• Our neighbours
• Our community
• Our nation

This Vision includes:

• (a) God's Vision concerning His Church (the body of Christ) and His people
• (b) The Vision of God's Heritage Ministries International

It is a Beacon of Light in this dark world drawing whoever will to ultimate salvation in Christ Jesus. The God's Heritage Vision is a mandate with purpose. It is a thrust with overwhelming impact keys to interpret divine mysteries of the kingdom. It is a Vision producing tangible and visible results even out of obscurity.

The Nature of the Ministry

• A Ministry rooted and grounded in excellence in all dimensions
• A Ministry whose effect is recognizable in the lives of its members—the epitome of the reality in its impact of ministry
• A ministry with revolutionary and revivalistic features, heralding the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ—Tangible signs and wonders
• A Ministry affecting and impacting the world, reviving the Church and bringing many sons to glory
• A great congregation and people of God numbering into thousands as members at the Base (Headquarters), and also branches throughout the world in the nations of Africa, Asia, Europe, Mexico, Canada and America
• A Vision that involves drawing out people from occult backgrounds and apostate churches
• A Vision whose unfolding would be characterized by a mighty manifestation of power and wonders—This is already a constant experience
• A Vision where the sick, the famished, the demon-possessed, the captive, the ignorant and the backslidden come out from their backgrounds because of the manifestation of God's power
• A Vision where the poor and the hopeless are suddenly transformed to spectacular abundance and the rejects are brought to recognition—This is a stamp of God's Heritage!
• A Vision where men are made and matured to spiritual responsibility
• A Vision where the Founding Minister and General Overseer with apostolic calling Ministers as an Evangelist, all over the world, preaching to people with mighty signs and wonders following
• A qualitative Ministry embracing all colours and races of the world
• A Ministry with so much effect! So much power!
• A Vision that pulls out "the man" in you and highlights the resourcefulness and the potentials of "the man in the image of God"

This mission is accomplished through:

• The demonstration of God's power in our lives
• Living victoriously over the forces of darkness
• Walking in the authority of Christ
• Manifesting the wisdom of God in every sphere of life
• Being a light in the darkness to teach spiritual forces that God's people reign

Priesthood and Kingship of the Believer

God's Heritage lifestyle is based on the strong belief that as children of God, we have power and victory over sin, the world and the devil. We are kings and priests. We are consecrated to God to offer acceptable spiritual sacrifices. The work of the priest is intercessory. As priests, we bring solution to the world. We reign in life both physically and spiritually for double impact—first to rule and have dominion over the earth and secondly to be priest showing people the spiritual path of life.

Spirit Filled Life

God's Heritage lifestyle is based on the belief that one who is born again, is born by the Spirit of God and becomes a partaker of the divine nature and nature of God. Therefore we are spirit beings though in the flesh. We are led by the Spirit of God and understand the witness which confirms us to be sons of God. This manifests through sanctified living, bold, confident and assured lifestyle, a struggle free life, prosperous and fruitful life, peaceful and power packed life.

Demonstrative Christianity

God's Heritage lifestyle demonstrates the authority of a believer. We hold firm to the truth that God has ordained the Church only with the mandate of teaching principalities and powers the manifold wisdom of God. This lifestyle is free from the influences of the kingdom of darkness and its illegal operations. We rightly interpret the devil's deposed state and the weight of the victory of calvary. This lifestyle is not subject to demons. We recognize our position and cast them out by the name that is above all names: The name of Jesus. We are the dominion enforcement unit of God's kingdom.

Evangelism

We live a life of evangelism as we strongly believe that only through the preaching of the gospel can men be saved. We have evangelism as a life style, and we also witness as a testimony of our victory. We evangelize in three ways: through the gospel, the written word; through the demonstration of the power of God; and through our victorious lifestyle.

Discipleship

A lifestyle where every member is involved in following up new and weak believers. It is a lifestyle which encourages growth, mentoring, counseling and teaching. This encourages interdependence so that every member is trained to minister grace to others.

Ministry Teams

Ministry Teams encompassing the five fold Ministry work under the power of the Holy Ghost to bring about the wonderful manifestations of the power and presence of God. These teams enforce the kingdom of God on earth. Men are built up and equipped to grow to the stature and fullness of Christ.

Spiritual Gifts

Spiritual gifts are avenues for individual and corporate demonstration of the vision.

Various Gifts and Talents

Individual members' giftings and talents are harnessed to build an effective body (Church). There are no unused members. Giftings and talents are for the benefit of all.

• A Strong army of believers taking over the land through the preaching of the gospel
• A network of ministers united in purpose and vision, demonstrating the power of God in signs and wonders
• A wholesome people equipped with knowledge impacting the world
• A church enforcing the kingdom dominion on earth, triumphantly awaiting the return of Christ
• An influential Church affecting its environment with its gifts and talents and fulfilling its mandate and purpose
• A ministry with international branches and affiliates bringing many sons to glory through knowledge and power

Fellowship Groups

To be a full and effective member of the Church, an individual has to join one of the following Fellowship Groups:

A member also has to identify with a House Fellowship.

Ministry Teams

To be a useful member of the church and to fulfill a member's purpose and destiny, a member is required to serve in any of the following teams:

Financial Commitment

We believe that as a member, you will serve the Lord with your resources to propagate the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in giving our tithes to God and in supporting the projects and outreaches of the Ministry.

Regular Attendance to Church Programmes

Regular attendance builds members up in the faith and equips them with destiny instruments.

I must candidly tell you that anyone who has not received Christ as LORD is not alive.

There is no other source of Salvation but in Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God. He is the friend that is closer than a brother. He is the one that delivers from shame and reproach. He is the one that will never fail you. He cares for you, and gave his life for your sins to be forgiven and to secure your future. It is to Him that you will eventually return when all pass away. Stop struggling with Him. This is the acceptable hour.

I offer you this opportunity to be reconciled to Jesus. Receive this new life in Christ. This will make you a new creation.
